John A. Goodman joined Sacks Law Group in early 2006 as Counsel. Previously, John was Of Counsel at Pavia & Harcourt LLP in New York City, having begun his real estate practice at Brown & Wood (now Sidley & Austin LLP) where he practiced in the real estate department for twelve years. He has also worked as general counsel for Swiss Capital Partners, a conduit lender originating loans for UBS Capital Markets. John's wide-ranging real estate experience is suited to clients seeking "one stop shopping" for all of their real estate needs, and includes extensive experience in acquisitions, conduit finance, construction law, governmental incentives and retail/office leasing. He strives to assist clients in solving challenging legal problems, such as those presented in negotiations with Paul Hastings and a major New York City developer which resulted in successfully safeguarding his client's interests through complex purchase and sale, master lease and condominium offering documentation. Recently, John has represented clients in connection with Federal, State and local incentive programs for renewable energy projects, including representation before NYSERDA, assistance to Cornell University trustees in connection with Cornell's entry in the 2009 Solar Decathlon and active participation on behalf of a Section 8 Housing developer in the public hearing for the New York City Solar Property Tax Abatement program. John is a graduate of Bucknell University (B.A. 1981, summa cum laude) and Columbia Law School (J.D. 1985) and resides in northern Westchester with his wife and three children.
